Smart and Sustainable

in another life

I was a journalism major at Washington & Lee University. Learning to write on a deadline has been very helpful.
I worked in public relations, trying to translate between technical and (very) non-technical groups of people.
I managed an award-winning intranet and built a knowledge library from scratch.

I joined mStoner in 2007 to help Voltaire and Michael with the new business process. One of my most important jobs is responding to RFPs from prospective clients. I have to admit that—after all this time—this process is still surprising to me. The range of institutions that reach out to mStoner is incredible, and each school, college, or organization is looking for something different. On our side, we’re looking for just the right fit as well. Good clients are open-minded, deadline-oriented (ahem), and willing to push the envelope (a little bit). I try to make sure that our consultants have the best possible lineup to work with.

When I’m not working on RFP responses, I’m thinking about new ways to get the word out about what I consider to be the most creative and talented team in our industry. Every time I visit the main mStoner office in Chicago (or “mothership,” Voltaire might call it), I’m struck by the energy and enthusiasm that the mStoner team brings to every discussion. And they’re funny, too. So whether it’s with the Intelligence newsletter, lunchtime conference calls, or podcasts, I’m looking for ways to share that energy with people outside the firm.
